What you need

- 2-3 yrs experience in satellite avionics IVVQ (preferred)
- Fluent English C1+ certification
- Matlab/Simulink and C/C++ programming

What you'll do
- Perform satellite avionics IVVQ testing (AOCS, DHC, FDIR)
- Develop real-time simulation models in C/C++ per ECSS SMP
- Write and execute test sequences at Avionic Test Bench
- Support hardware specification and procurement
- Prepare test documentation and customer reviews

We are looking for an Avionics Engineer - IVVQ
The job holder will be in charge of the different phases of Avionics testing: Integration, Verification and Validation/Qualification of Satellite Avionics (for all what concern Data Handling - DHC, Attitude and Orbit Control - AOC and Failure Detection Isolation and Recovery - FDIR aspects), up to final test report/documentation preparation and reviews with customer. The job will also include developing of simulation models for Satellite Real Time Environment (RTE) based on C/C++ compliant to ESA ECSS SMP standard.
The proposed job will imply the following duties:
Real/No-Real Time test environment for Hardware In the Loop HIL Testing)
Real Time Environment (RTE) Simulation modeling based on C/C++ compliant to ECSS SMP standard;
Matlab/Simulink programming;
Support to HW units specification and technical management of related procurement;
To study/understand the design provided by AOCS/DHC Design Authority in order to develop a verification and testing approach;
To develop and write test sequences for AOCS, DHC, FDIR aspects;
Avionics V&V activity at Avionic Test Bench (ATB) level;
The working site is Rome, but it might be required working in other locations for short mid-term periods.
Short periods of 24h shift working across the full week might be required upon specific program needs.
About You
Education and experience
You have a Master Degree in Electrical/Computer/Control Engineering, with explicit focus on programming, Hardware In the Loop Testing and Control Systems Engineering.
You are fluent in English (C1 and above certification) both listening and reading.
It is preferable you have at least 2-3 years of experience in similar position.
Skills and knowledge
Knowledge of kinematics and dynamics of rigid bodies
Avionic sensors and actuators technology
Knowledge of real/no-real time test environment (for Hardware In the Loop HIL Testing)
SW or hybrid (HW/SW) simulators
Matlab/Simulink programming
C/C++ programming
Knowledge of ESA technical standard
Data Handling Hardware (On Board Computer, Remote Terminal Unit, GNSS receiver, microprocessors)
Technical experience about understanding of the Avionic requirements of a Satellite is plus
Technical experience on Avionic EGSE elements and development on Spacecraft simulator is plus
Able to work with instruments of laboratory oscilloscope, multimeter, protocol analyser
Able to work on own and in team in an international environment
Able to cope with a workload pressures
Knowledge of quality process and procedures
