We are looking for an Attitude and Orbit Control System Design Junior Engineer
CANDIDATES THAT WOULD IMPRESS US
You have graduated with a Master Degree in Aerospace Engineering with a specific focus on attitude control or in Control Systems Engineering.
You are fluent in English with excellent listening and reading skills.
You have a proactive attitude and a strong problem-solving mindset.
You are highly organized and methodical with excellent communication skills. You are able to manage multiple tasks and work effectively within a team.
You have a strong orientation towards achieving results within given constraints.
COMPETENCIES:
You can master the kinematics and dynamics of rigid bodies with gyroscopic stiffness and flexible appendages.
You have a deep understanding of sensors and actuators technology.
You are familiar with optimal estimation theory and robust control theory.
You are proficient in Matlab, Simulink and C++ programming.
You have familiarity with automatic code generation which will be considered an advantage.
You have knowledge of space engineering standards which will be considered a plus.
LIFE AS AN ATTITUDE AND ORBIT CONTROL SYSTEM DESIGN JUNIOR ENGINEER ROLE
As a Junior Engineer within Thales, you will contribute to all phases of the subsystem lifecycle from feasibility studies to in-flight activities.
You will participate in the architecture definition, sizing and technical justification.
You will contribute to the analysis of the attitude perturbations environment.
You will support the specification and technical management of hardware units.
You will support the design, implementation and verification of control modes and estimation algorithms.
You will provide support in compiling control system design and analysis reports.
You will support the validation of avionics across different simulation stages on the test bench.
You will support the modeling of units and the configuration of proprietary design frameworks.
You will assist in monitoring the technical procurement of hardware components.
You will support flight operations for in-orbit activities, investigations and data analysis.
You will work primarily in Rome but you may be required to travel to other locations for short or mid-term periods.
