About Tandem
Office leasing is one of the last professional services that still runs almost entirely on manual effort — emails, phone calls, spreadsheets, and gut instinct.
We've used software and AI to transform a process that used to take months into one that takes weeks: matching companies to spaces faster, surfacing better options earlier, and guiding teams through every step of a lease.
We're not just building a better brokerage. We're figuring out what a services business looks like when AI does most of the work — and what still requires a human in the room.
We've helped more than 500 companies find and sign offices, and we’re just getting started.
The Role
New York office leasing runs on relationships, and your job is to make Tandem the best-connected name in the market.
You'll map the who's who of NYC real estate: the landlords, brokers, and building owners who matter, who controls what, and who to call. Then you'll build real relationships with those people, in person and on the phone, and help them understand how Tandem can fill their space faster than anyone else. Along the way you'll keep our picture of the market sharp: what's actually available, at what price, and what's coming.
To learn the industry better, you'll also work the other side of the business from day one. We'll train you as a full member of our demand team: touring spaces with founders, helping companies work through offers, and supporting deals end to end.
Most weeks, expect the majority of your time on the supply side and a meaningful chunk on live deals, much of it in person across Manhattan.
Everything you learn feeds back into the product. Which buildings matter, which relationships move deals, what information is worth knowing and how often to refresh it: you'll help design the system that captures it.
What We're Looking For
- You're a people person. You can pick up a conversation with anyone you just met and find something to talk about, and people leave interactions with you wanting the next one.
- You read the room. You know when to make the ask, when to just listen, and how to win over someone who had no intention of being won over.
- You've worked a two-sided, outreach-heavy job and were good at it: recruiting, expert networks, or sales. A day full of calls and meetings energizes you rather than drains you.
- You're genuinely interested in real estate and want to be in the industry, just maybe not the traditional-brokerage version of it.
- You're curious about how AI is changing professional services and want to be inside that problem, not watching it from the outside.
- High judgment, low ego. Early-stage means the scope of your job will change.
- Based in New York City and happy to spend most of your time out in it. Willing to get a NY real estate license quickly (we'll cover it).
What We Offer
- Competitive salary + equity + full medical, dental and vision coverage
- Direct mentorship from founders who've built and scaled companies
- Ownership over a NYC market that's growing fast
- A small, hard-working, genuinely kind team
