Job Description

Stratolaunch is a technology accelerator that engineers operationally realistic testing at Mach 5+. Our air-launched, Talon testbeds are reusable, cost-effective platforms that enable routine access to the hypersonic environment. We deliver flight data critical to validating system performance and achieving rapid technology deployment. Together with our customers, we drive innovations that are imperative to advancing national security.

To achieve these great efforts, Stratolaunch is seeking a Program Coordinator with 2–5 years of relevant experience within defense or aerospace companies. This pivotal role is responsible for coordinating all program activities, collaborating with cross-functional teams, communicating with the customer, and addressing customer needs. The Program Coordinator reports directly to the Program Director and plays a key role in ensuring program success.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Program Activity Coordination
    • Coordinate day-to-day program activities and ensure alignment with program objectives and schedules.
    • Track action items, deliverables, and milestones across multiple workstreams.
    • Maintain and update program documentation, schedules, and status trackers.
  2. Cross-Department Collaboration
    • Serve as a liaison between engineering, operations, procurement, finance, and other departments.
    • Facilitate effective communication and information flow among all program stakeholders.
    • Support the integration of cross-functional inputs into program plans and deliverables.
  3. Customer Communication & Support
    • Act as a primary point of contact for customer inquiries and routine communications.
    • Gather, document, and address customer needs, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.
    • Support the preparation and delivery of customer status reports, presentations, and briefings.
  4. Reporting & Documentation
    • Prepare regular program status reports for the Program Director and internal leadership.
    • Document meeting minutes, action items, and key decisions.
    • Assist in the preparation of program review materials and executive briefings.
  5. Risk & Issue Tracking
    • Monitor program risks and issues, escalating to the Program Director as needed.
    • Support risk mitigation and issue resolution activities.
  6. Process Improvement
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement within program coordination activities.
    • Support the implementation of best practices and new tools to enhance program efficiency.
  7. Travel
    • Domestic travel as required to support program and customer meetings (estimated <10%).

Qualifications

Required:

  • 2–5 years of experience in program coordination, project management, or related roles within defense, aerospace, or high-technology companies.
  • Experience supporting large, multi-disciplinary programs or projects.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • U.S. Citizenship (required for certain positions due to government contracts).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS (Top Secret) security clearance.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and drive organizational change.

Preferred:

  • Experience working directly with government agencies, defense contractors, or regulatory bodies.
  • Familiarity with program management methodologies and tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira).
  • Exposure to aircraft systems, launch vehicles, or aerospace integration programs.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification.

Required Computer Skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, or equivalent).

Education

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Program Coordinator $67,800 - $109,000 and 10% target bonus: Base salary and leveling established on a case-by-case basis, considering location, education, skills, and experience.
  • 9/80 schedule

This position may involve the operation of company vehicles as part of assigned duties.
