Job Description

Saronic Technologies is a leader in revolutionizing autonomy at sea, dedicated to developing state-of-the-art solutions that enhance maritime operations through autonomous and intelligent platforms.

Saronic Technologies is a leader in revolutionizing autonomy at sea, dedicated to developing state-of-the-art solutions that enhance maritime operations through autonomous and intelligent platforms.

At Saronic, power isn't an afterthought — it's the backbone of everything we build. From high-voltage distribution systems to precision lighting in our manufacturing environments, the electrical infrastructure at our facilities has to perform flawlessly in support of some of the most advanced autonomous maritime technology in the world. We're looking for a skilled, driven electrical engineer to own that infrastructure from concept through commissioning.

This is a hands-on, high-ownership role for someone who wants to do more than review drawings. You'll set the company's electrical design and construction standards, guide complex capital projects from early programming through field completion, and serve as the internal expert that both our teams and our third-party partners rely on. Whether you're sizing equipment for a new industrial facility, negotiating a utility service agreement, or standing on a job site watching systems come online, you'll be the person making sure it's done right.

You'll bring deep fluency in high, medium, and low voltage systems — and a command of the codes and standards that govern industrial electrical design, including NEC, NFPA, IBC, and IECC. Your judgment will shape the electrical systems that power Saronic's growth for years to come.

If you're a licensed engineer with a track record of delivering complex electrical systems in industrial or manufacturing environments, and you're ready to take real ownership at a company that's moving fast and building something that matters, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the development and maintenance of electrical, power distribution, lighting, design and construction standards for the company.

  • Participate in the early programming and development of various capital project scopes of work and documentation of project requirements with a focus on electrical systems.

  • Support development and issuance of requests for proposals and qualifications for various capital projects to 3rd party engineers, architects, design-build contractors and general contractors.

  • Review and comment on 3rd party electrical designs for capital projects and provide owner based subject matter specialist (SMS) input and direction to internal and external teams.

  • Provide internal design, system, equipment sizing, and design documentation on small capital projects as needed.

  • Complete field visits during capital construction projects to represent owner and observe general electrical installation and commissioning activities.

  • Design management of small capital projects as needed.

  • Travel anticipated to be up to 10% of the time for project specific visits.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or greater in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering, or a related field.

  • Licensed engineer (PE preferred).

  • 5+ years of design, commissioning, and/or construction of electrical systems for industrial and manufacturing projects including high, medium, and low voltage systems.

  • Experience with negotiation of electrical utility service and delivery agreements preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of building and energy codes including but not limited to IBC, IECC, IFC, IEEE, NEC, and NFPA as well as associated industry standards and code referenced technical guidelines.

  • Proficient in developing design standards, technical project requirements documents, requests for proposals. Experience with completing 3rd party design reviews and directing engineering, production and construction teams.

  • Knowledge and experience using AutoCAD and/or Revit preferred.

  • Demonstrated success developing innovative solutions to a broad range of electrical engineering problems.

  • Experience with the entire capital project life cycle.

  • Design management experience preferred.

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

  • Occasional standing and walking within the office

  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment

  • Visual acuity to read screens, documents, and reports

  • Occasional reaching, bending, or stooping to access file drawers, cabinets, or office supplies

  • Lifting and carrying items up to 20 pounds occasionally (e.g., office supplies, packages)

  • Can safely travel and visit active industrial sites and active construction projects on occasional basis.
