Saronic Technologies is a leader in revolutionizing autonomy at sea, dedicated to developing state-of-the-art solutions that enhance maritime operations through autonomous and intelligent platforms.

At Saronic, we're redefining the future of maritime defense — and the facilities we build are just as mission-critical as the technology inside them. We're looking for a seasoned, registered architect to take ownership of how we design, permit, and build the industrial environments that bring our autonomous surface vessels to life.

This is a rare opportunity to work at the intersection of cutting-edge defense technology and complex, high-stakes facility development. You won't be pushing paper through a bureaucracy — you'll be a key decision-maker, shaping building standards from the ground up, navigating intricate permitting landscapes, and leaving a lasting mark on the physical infrastructure of a fast-moving, mission-driven company.

From early-stage programming and scope development to field visits during active construction, you'll have full-cycle ownership across capital projects at our industrial and port facilities. You'll bring deep expertise in occupancy classifications, code compliance, and hazardous materials requirements to bear on real problems — and you'll do it alongside a team of engineers, designers, and builders who care deeply about getting it right.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the development and maintenance of building architectural design and construction standards for the company.

  • Own the building permitting process for capital projects including development of a  permitting plan and acting as key POC for local AHJ’s.

  • Participate in the early programming and development of various capital project scopes of work and documentation of project requirements with a focus on architectural systems and design elements as well as occupancy and code compliance paths.

  • Support development and issuance of requests for proposals and qualifications for various capital projects to 3rd party engineers, architects, design-build contractors and general contractors.

  • Review and comment on 3rd party architectural and building designs for capital projects and provide owner based subject matter specialist (SMS) input and direction to internal and external teams.

  • Provide internal design, and documentation on small capital projects as needed.

  • Complete field visits during capital construction projects to represent owner and observe general civil/site installation and commissioning activities.

  • Design management of small capital projects as needed.

  • Travel anticipated to be up to 10% of the time for project specific visits.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or greater in Architecture, or a related field.

  • Registered architect.

  • 8+ years of design, and/or construction of buildings for industrial, manufacturing, and/or port facility projects.

  • In addition to experience with general building design and development, you must have experience/knowledge with various code and permitting requirements including assessing F, H, and S occupancies, specialty requirements from NFPA, experience with development of HMI’s, and applications for code variances for industrial buildings.

  • Proficient in developing design standards, technical project requirements documents, requests for proposals. Experience with completing 3rd party design reviews and directing engineering, production and construction teams.

  • Knowledge and experience using AutoCAD and/or Revit preferred.

  • Demonstrated success developing innovative solutions to a broad range of permitting and building design problems and challenges Broad experience in coordination with and knowledge of MEP, Civil, FP, and structural design elements is prefered.

  • Experience with the entire capital project life cycle.
