Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (DS) sector is looking for a Manager Talent Readiness 3 (Manager Organizational Effectiveness 3) to join the DS Human Resources Organization Effectiveness (OE) team. If you are passionate about helping leaders, teams and organizations perform at their best, we want to talk to you! The successful candidate will lead a team of consultants to apply their broad talent management and OE experience to assess the evolving talent needs of the sector and lead efforts to strengthen the talent pipeline.
This full-time position will report to the Sr. Director, Organization Effectiveness for DS, and will be located at a McLean, VA; Huntsville, AL; Plymouth, MN; Rocket Center, WV; or Roy, UT.
Key Responsibilities:
Build a high-performing team of Talent Management consultants to assess and address sector talent pipeline gaps and develop and execute a long-term roadmap
Act as a liaison to the enterprise talent team to shape the company strategy and implement supporting programs and processes
Drive continued learning and adoption of talent management best practices to enable business strategy
Assess talent needs and skill gaps to support business strategy using a data-driven approach
Develop and execute a long-term roadmap in partnership with HR Business Partners and senior leaders
Collaborate on sector talent strategy and priorities, acting as a liaison between sector and client organizations
Partner with sector HR team to identify high-potential talent and manage individual development plans to accelerate readiness and guide transitions
Lead talent management and development processes in alignment with the enterprise strategy and approach
Lead and manage sector-level projects to implement enterprise talent and organization effectiveness strategies, including defining scope, timelines and success measures, coordinating stakeholders, and tracking progress against milestones
Apply change management approaches and tools to support successful adoption of talent and OE solutions, including stakeholder engagement, communications, and sustainment planning
Identify and prioritize learning needs at a high-level in partnership with HR and senior leaders
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree plus 8 + years of relevant experience in HR or related field; or a Master’s degree plus 6 + years of relevant experience. Will consider 12 + years of relevant experience in lieu of degree requirement (Associate's degree plus 10+ years of relevant experience OR High School Diploma plus 12+ years of relevant experience)
Excellent leadership skills to drive team performance and create a positive employee experience
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with senior leaders and influence across boundaries to drive talent strategy
Experience leading talent management programs and processes to prepare talent in alignment with business strategy
Experience collaborating with HR and senior leaders using a data-driven approach to assess talent needs and design solutions
Experience facilitating succession planning and transition planning to support business continuity
Strong business acumen with a focus on how to use talent processes and tools to accelerate business results
Solid consulting skills with the ability to scope problems, recommend practical solutions, gain client buy-in, and deliver desired results
Design and facilitate team engagements and training, virtually and face-to-face
Create and deliver professional presentations to meet objectives for the engagement and audience.
Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to effectively manage stakeholders at all levels
Demonstrated aptitude for learning and flexibility to manage multiple projects/clients simultaneously, mitigate and escalate risk, adapt to shifting priorities, and navigate ambiguous situations
Excellent facilitation and presentation skills in both virtual and in-person environments
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint)
Ability to travel up to 10%
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in Human Resources, Organization Effectiveness or Talent Management roles
Prior experience as an internal or external consultant in a complex, matrixed organization
Demonstrated experience leading comprehensive organizational assessments that result in development and implementation of strategies that strengthen talent outcomes
Ability to leverage data and analytics to inform decisions and actions aligned to business outcomes
Prior experience with and/or certifications in common assessments and models related to organization development and leadership/team effectiveness
Certificate in coaching or certified executive coach
Experience working with highly skilled technical talent and/or early career talent
Experience in Aerospace & Defense or other technology/manufacturing organization
Experience with Workday, including talent management and/or succession planning modules
Primary Level Salary Range: $137,800.00 - $239,300.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
