Job Description
Northrop Grumman is seeking an Engineering Technician 2/3 to join our growing team in Rocket Center, WV. This position is located 100% on site in Rocket Center, WV. No telework is available.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Operates analytical instrumentation.
- Performs standard analytical test methods for quality control, material assessment, or engineering evaluation.
- Provides technical support to plant personnel on a variety of tasks.
- Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes.
- Follows engineering documentation requirements including specifications and drawings.
- Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas.
- Performs quantitative judgments concerning technical data.
- Disposes of raw materials per regulatory guidelines.
- Communicates well across multiple disciplines.
- Monitors gauge, instrument, and equipment calibrations. Ensures calibration cycles are not exceeded.
- Performs a variety of technical procedures such as preparing routine solutions and reagents and performing routine reactions.
- Able to work overtime as required.
This position will be filled at either the Engineering Technician 2 or Engineering Technician 3 level based on the selected candidate’s education, experience, and qualifications.
Basic Qualifications Engineering Technician 2:
- High school diploma and 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Ability to routinely lift 30 pounds and ability to work in tight spaces.
- Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting.
- Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Ability and willingness to provide coverage on weekends.
- Ability to obtain a US government Secret security clearance as needed, for which US Citizenship is a prerequisite.
Basic Qualifications Engineering Technician 3:
- High school diploma and 4 years of relevant work experience.
- Ability to routinely lift 30 pounds and ability to work in tight spaces.
- Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting.
- Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Ability and willingness to provide coverage on weekends.
- Ability to obtain a US government Secret security clearance as needed, for which US Citizenship is a prerequisite.
Preferred Qualifications both levels:
- Technology degree preferred.
- Experience handling energetics, hazardous chemicals, and solvents preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Primary Level Salary Range: $48,400.00 - $80,600.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $57,500.00 - $95,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
