ispace, inc. is looking for Lead Solutions Architect to join our Advanced Research and Development team in Tokyo.

This position required native Japanese level as you will be required to engage with Japanese clients to get requirements and discuss the proposed solutions.

R&Dリードソリューションアーキテクトとして、あなたはコンセプト設計者としてエンジニアチームを統括し、ビジネス開発チームや顧客と直接連携しながら、シスルナ環境におけるミッション（ランダー、軌道輸送機、月周回衛星、ローバーなど）全般を対象とした提案用技術ソリューションの開発を主導します。

技術ソリューションのコンセプトは、中・低い技術成熟度からスタートし、JPLの「Concept Maturity Level」スケールに基づき、CML2以上のレベルまで発展させることが期待されます。

As the R&D Lead Solutions architect you are a conceptual designer who co-ordinates a team of engineers, partners directly with Business Development teams and Customers to lead the development of technical solutions for proposals covering the full span of cislunar environment missions (landers, orbit transfer vehicles, lunar satellites, rovers, etc.).

It is expected that technical solution concepts start at mid/low technical maturity and you develop them to a CML2+ level (see JPL "concept maturity level" scale).

The position will work globally, but is based in Tokyo and reports to the EVP of R&D (CTO Group).

Key responsibilities

国内および海外のビジネス開発チームに対するR&Dの窓口として対応し、顧客と直接コミュニケーションを取り、ニーズを把握する（輸送ミッションにおける質量要件、着陸地点／目標軌道、通信・電力・ISRUなどの運用要件など）。

取得した情報に基づき、ispaceの現行製品および将来のロードマップを考慮した技術提案を作成。最適なソリューションを選定するための必要な分析を実施し、最終的にビジネス開発チームへ提案内容を提供。

プロジェクトの内容や必要な専門性に応じて、技術的リーダーシップを発揮し、エンジニアチームを調整して期限内の成果物納品を確保。

プロジェクトの進捗を報告し、投入工数と計画工数を比較して速度を測定し、将来のプロジェクトにおける効率性と精度を向上させる。

You are the R&D point of contact for business development teams in Japan and globally. With them, you engage directly with customers to understand their needs (mass requirements for a transport mission, landing site/target orbit, communications/power/ISRU or other operational requirements, etc.).

Based on those inputs, you provide tailored technical proposals considering ispace's current products and future roadmap. You perform the required analysis to select the most applicable solution, ultimately releasing it to the business development team to support the proposal.

As needed for specific projects (depending on the scope / required expertise) you provide technical leadership and coordinate a team of engineers to ensure timely delivery of those projects.

You report progress of the projects and size the invested vs planned effort to measure velocity, increasing efficiency and accuracy of future projects

Minimum Requirements

航空宇宙工学、システムエンジニアリング、または関連分野の学士号以上を保有していること

英語および日本語での優れたコミュニケーション能力を有し、顧客や社内のビジネス開発チームと詳細な技術的議論ができること

関連するミッションや軌道（通信、輸送、宇宙状況認識など）に関する5年以上の経験を持ち、さらに以下の宇宙機サブシステムのうち少なくとも2つに精通していること姿勢・軌道制御通信推進, 電源構造熱制御)

You hold at least a BS in Aerospace, Systems Engineering, or relevant field

You have great communication skills, including English and Japanese sufficient to have detailed technical discussions with customers and our internal BD teams in those languages.

You are familiar (5+ years of experience) with relevant missions and orbits (communications, transport, space awareness, etc.) and at least two spacecraft subsystems (e.g. attitude and orbit control, communication, propulsion, power, structures, thermal)
