Your Role in Our Space Mission:
As a local Environment Specialist/Manager at Isar Aerospace, you play a central role in ensuring our operations are environmentally responsible and compliant. You will actively implement environmental policies, engage teams in sustainability initiatives, and drive continuous improvement to support our environmental performance and long-term sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all local, national, and international environmental regulations, company policies, and relevant standards.
- Monitor and report on environmental metrics such as waste generation, emissions, energy use, and resource consumption.
- Lead initiatives to reduce the company’s environmental footprint, including waste reduction, resource efficiency, and pollution prevention projects.
- Manage environmental permits, certifications, and required documentation.
- Conduct environmental audits to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Coordinate environmental incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Take overall responsibility for hazardous goods management, ensuring safe handling and documentation while coordinating with the hazardous goods officers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate environmental considerations into projects, operations, and product development.
- Support the Quality Department with product-related environmental topics
Qualification Checklist
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in environmental management roles, preferably within industrial, manufacturing, or aerospace environments.
- Strong knowledge of local and international environmental regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Experience in hazardous goods management.
- Experience conducting environmental risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations.
- Proficiency in preparing environmental documentation, regulatory reports, and permit applications.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and collaborative working style.
- Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken.
