We are looking to add a Senior Material Planner to our growing team.  If you enjoy working in a startup environment and are passionate about supporting new product development and manufacturing for an exciting product line of satellite communications equipment, we would like to hear from you.

In this position, you will support production and supply planning activities by developing material strategies, balancing supply and demand requirements, and coordinating material availability to support manufacturing schedules and customer commitments. This role contributes to operational performance by optimizing inventory levels, mitigating material risks, and improving planning processes that support efficient supply chain execution.

Working cross-functionally with supply chain, operations, engineering, program management, manufacturing, quality, and finance, this role supports production planning, material planning, inventory management, and supply chain execution while ensuring material availability aligns with production schedules, customer requirements, and business objectives.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain integrated material plans that support production schedules, inventory objectives, and customer delivery requirements.
  • Analyze material requirements, inventory levels, demand forecasts, and supply commitments to ensure material availability.
  • Evaluate inventory performance and implement corrective actions to resolve shortages, excess inventory, and material constraints.
  • Support planning activities associated with new product introductions, engineering changes, production transitions, and demand fluctuations.
  • Coordinate with operations and manufacturing to support production schedules and material readiness.
  • Evaluate supply and demand requirements while identifying material constraints and recommending recovery plans.
  • Support execution of production planning, inventory replenishment, and material allocation activities.
  • Maintain planning parameters and material planning data within ERP and MRP systems.
  • Coordinate with supply chain, engineering, program management, manufacturing, quality, and finance to support material planning objectives.
  • Communicate material shortages, schedule impacts, supply risks, and recovery plans to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and supply chain personnel to resolve material availability issues and improve supplier performance.
  • Maintain planning documentation, reports, and material status updates.
  • Drive implementation of planning process improvements and operational initiatives.
  • Build productive working relationships with supply chain, operations, engineering, program management, manufacturing, quality, and finance.
  • Maintain planning documentation, planning parameters, inventory records, and performance metrics.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of planning processes, inventory performance, and supply chain execution.
  • JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of material planning, production planning, inventory management, and supply chain principles.
  • Understanding of material requirements planning (MRP), demand planning, inventory optimization, production scheduling, and supply planning methodologies.
  • Experience utilizing ERP systems, MRP systems, inventory planning processes, and business reporting tools.
  • Demonstrates analytical thinking with the ability to evaluate inventory performance, material requirements, production demand, and supply risks.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple planning priorities, schedules, and material requirements.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with supply chain, operations, engineering, program management, manufacturing, quality, and finance.
  • Attention to detail when maintaining planning data, inventory records, and material requirements.
  • Applies strategic thinking to improve planning effectiveness, inventory performance, and supply chain execution.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, such as Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, or equivalent platforms.
  • Working knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and supply planning systems.
  • Experience with business intelligence, data visualization, and reporting tools, such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent applications.
