This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations.

The Site Leader, Extended Sites serves as the on-the-ground representative for all Blue Origin locations outside of our primary campuses (WA, FL, AL, TX) — responsible for ensuring facility standards, cultivating a positive site culture, and maintaining strong community relationships. This role is uniquely positioned at the intersection of operations, culture, and enterprise standardization.

As Blue Origin scales, this leader plays a critical role in establishing and maintaining consistent site practices, standards, and experiences across a geographically distributed portfolio of locations. They serve as the ambassador, steward, and cultural anchor for each site in their scope — ensuring that every Blue Origin location, regardless of size, reflects our values, mission, and operational standards. This role requires a leader who can operate across multiple environments, build from the ground up, and influence without authority.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Site Operations & Standards

• Oversee site appearance, maintenance, and safety standards across all sites in scope
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for site conditions and operational efficiency
• Coordinate with facilities management to address infrastructure needs and improvements
• Ensure site security protocols are consistently followed across all locations
• Partner with internal stakeholders to determine and communicate site restrictions, closure and reopening status related to operations, product testing, or weather-related incidents
• Determine site space utilization including office-space planning, production, material movement, and storage requirements
• Ensure proper management of facility tours and dignitary visits

Standardization & Scalability

• Partner with peer site leaders and enterprise functions to develop, document, and implement consistent site operating standards and playbooks
• Serve as a feedback loop between smaller/emerging sites and enterprise leadership — surfacing local needs that inform broader site strategy
• Support the onboarding and setup of new site locations as Blue Origin expands its footprint
• Participate in operational reviews including safety meetings, internal and external audits across all sites in scope

Culture & Employee Experience

• Drive a safety culture through participation in onboarding and other communication vehicles
• In partnership with engagement teams, Business Resource Groups, and other planning teams, take ownership of site-wide engagement initiatives to foster an inclusive, high-performance culture
• Maintain regular communication channels (distribution lists, wiki pages) to inform and engage employees across all sites
• Champion company values and ensure alignment between corporate vision and local site execution

Community & External Relations

• In partnership with the sales and marketing team, serve as a primary site representative with local government officials and community organizations across all sites in scope
• Represent Blue Origin at local events, industry forums, and community engagements
• Collaborate on public relations matters specific to each site's local context

Reporting & Cross-Functional Coordination

• Coordinate preparation and communication of monthly site operational results to product line and business leaders
• Drive tight cross-functional collaboration across Facilities, EHS, Production, Business Leaders, Security, and engagement teams
• Escalate unresolved site-level issues to enterprise leadership as appropriate

Minimum Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, operations, or multi-site management environments
• Experience developing and managing annual operating plans, budgets and employee engagement initiatives
• Demonstrated ability to build and implement scalable standards and processes across multiple locations
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and influencing skills — this role succeeds through partnerships, not direct control
• Excellent stakeholder management and community relations experience
• Strong employee relations, people leadership, and communication skills — including public speaking for diverse audiences
• Track record of successful employee engagement programs
• Comfort representing Blue Origin's mission and brand publicly with government officials, community organizations, and at industry events
• Ability to travel regularly across sites in scope - up to 75% travel

 

Base Pay Range for:

CA applicants is $203,165.00 - $284,430.30 CO applicants is $192,378.00 - $269,328.15 WA applicants is $203,165.00 - $284,430.30 VA applicants is $203,165.00 - $284,430.30

• Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing, vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.
• Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
