Location: This position is 100% on-site at our motion control manufacturing facility in Longmont, Colorado.
Remote or hybrid work is not available for this role.
Relocation: Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.
Travel: Domestic travel of 10% or less should be expected.
Shift: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
Roles and Responsibilities:
Carry out safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe and healthy working environment for all employees.
Supervise a team of electromechanical and mechanical technicians operating in a high-mix, low-volume production environment.
Establish and maintain a flexible, cross-trained workforce to support accurate completion of production requirements.
Coordinate with upstream functions (planning, engineering, supply chain) to ensure a sufficient backlog of jobs to maintain cell efficiency.
Provide feedback to leadership and engineering teams to drive continuous process improvements.
Oversee recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes to ensure optimal staffing levels and proactively address workforce gaps.
Supervise technician workmanship certifications and schedule required training with internal and external trainers.
Advise Human Resources and the Production Manager on corrective actions; conduct employee counseling sessions to address non-compliance issues.
Ensure effective on-the-job training for direct employees and contract workers.
Monitor tool calibration status and collaborate with the Quality team to ensure schedules align with build needs.
Participate and lead Production-focused Gemba walks.
Utilize our ERP system to access and manage production related activities.
Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to resolve quality issues and implement effective corrective actions.
Lead all aspects of accurate storage and handling of materials and finished goods.
Perform other duties as required to support production and business needs.
Qualifications:
3+ years of validated expertise in a supervisory role within a high mix, low volume manufacturing environment.
Associate's degree in a technical field or business-related discipline.
Prior experience working experience in space, aerospace, or medical device manufacturing environments.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Familiarity with ERP systems and production planning software.
Familiarity with Gemba walk methodology and continuous improvement practices.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, engineering, business, or a related field preferred.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
Base Pay Range for:
CO applicants is $43.83 - $61.35Other site ranges may differ
