This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.

As a Lead Test Engineer withing the Integration and Test (I&T) team, you will be supporting spacecraft, launch vehicle, subsystem integration and test activities across development, qualification, acceptance and flight programs. You will be responsible for leading electrical test execution, developing test strategies, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, an ensuring safe and efficient execution of complex electrical test campaigns.

Travel expected up to 10%, and >30% if needed to support offsite test campaigns.
Ability to work extended hours and support off shift operations during critical test campaign activities
Responsibilities:
Lead electrical integration and test activities for spacecraft, launch vehicle, and avionics systems
Develop and execute test plans, procedures, and test readiness documentation
Operate test consoles, direct technician work and coordinate with internal customers
Coordinate cross functional teams including avionics, software, GNC, systems engineering, and operations
Support vehicle level and subsystem level environmental and functional testing including Power system validation, functional testing, Performance testing, RF testing, end to end integrated vehicle testing
Drive test campaign planning, scheduling and daily execution activities
Mentor and guide junior test engineers
Support test reviews including TRR and post test data reviews
Interface with design engineering teams to define instrumentation, data acquisition, and test success criteria
Track risks, issues, and action items to closure
Coordinate test crews, support equipment and vehicle configurations for testing.
Promote strong culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Find opportunities for safety improvements and cost savings
Qualifications

BS in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline
8+ years of applicable experience
Experience leading complex aerospace test campaigns
Experience with electrical troubleshooting, sensors and data systems
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and interface control documents
Experience developing and executing test procedures and test plans
Strong understanding of system verification and validation processes
Experience coordinating cross functional teams in operational test environments
Understand the Test Like You Fly assessment and exception process
Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills
Experience working collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic work environment
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications:
M.S. degree in electrical engineering or related technical discipline
10+ years of relevant experience
Experience with spacecraft, launch vehicles, lunar systems or human spaceflight programs
Familiarity with RF systems, telemetry, command and data handling systems
Experience with scripting or automation tools such as C/C++, MATLAB/Simulink, Python, NI test stands or other languages
Prior experience leading integrated vehicle testing or launch campaign operations
Leadership expectations:

Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
