This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As part of a small, hardworking, and accomplished team of specialists, you will support the translation of engineering intent, drawings, and configurations into additively manufactured metallic flight hardware. This involves learning about design for additive manufacturing, assisting with creation of print models, supporting the manufacturing process, tracking work orders, and helping address manufacturing issues. You will work closely with operators, quality technicians, and engineering counterparts to support the processing of complex rocket engine and rocket components (i.e. thrust chambers, injectors, turbo pumps, etc). As an integral member of the team, you will learn to use data to drive process improvements and serve as a feedback loop between design and fabrication.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of Additively Manufactured (AM) components from concept to production using Laser Powder Bed (LPB) printing

  • Assist in defining and delivering production print models using state of the art software tools, configuration controlled process, and design for AM

  • Learn machine specific workflows and software packages to improve additive designs

  • Participate in company process definition, documentation, and improvement teams for manufacturing processes, business processes, production planning, lessons learned, and other standards/processes as needed

  • Assist in developing manufacturing work instructions to clearly define the full process from print to delivery

  • Support management of cost, quality, build sequence, and schedule of hardware throughout the entire manufacturing process

  • Participate in root cause analyses when non-conformances and escapes are identified and support corrective actions

  • Ability to support operations onsite in Kent, Washington and during off hours (if required) via phone or online tools

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree or higher in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering and Aerospace Engineering or related field. 

    Will have earned their degree within the last year and able to start by Fall 2027.  

  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

  • Interest in or exposure to additive manufacturing technologies

  • Must be physically able to:

    • Support production floor activities onsite to keep parts flowing

    • Ability to support onsite in Kent

    • Support off hours for production if required

Desired Qualifications:

  • Coursework or project experience related to additive manufacturing

  • Exposure to laser powder bed fusion printing or similar technologies

  • Foundational understanding of engineering concepts and design for manufacturing

  • Familiarity with CAD design (Creo), support design (Magics), or simulation packages (MSC, ANSYS)

  • Interest in metallic additive manufacturing and design

  • Knowledge of design for additive manufacturing principles

  • Experience with technical documentation or work instructions

  • Aerospace or rocket engine development interest or coursework



 

Base Pay Range for:

WA applicants is $81,313.00 - $113,837.85

  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing, vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.
  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
