Founding Engineer
Job Description
Why Autosana?
We're building a new regression and feature testing paradigm from the ground-up.
The problem is huge: End-to end testing is broken. Teams either waste tons of engineering hours maintaining fragile, selector-based tests that break every release, or they test manually (or not at all). We’re fixing that!
Backed by $3.2M in funding: Paying customers, revenue, and growing.
Small team, massive surface area: We're staying lean on purpose, so every person on the team gets to stay close to customers and contribute like crazy.
About the role
We're looking for product-minded engineers who want to own entire problem areas, not just write code. You'll talk to customers, decide what to build, and ship it. If you have a distinct spike in something (infra, mobile, AI, frontend) that's great, but what matters most is agency and taste.
Areas you may work on
- Make our agents faster and more reliable at navigating apps
- Make our infrastructure that manages simulators, emulators, and browsers more reliable and scalable
- Build out new agents to further automate testing
- Put out fires. We joke that we're all professional firefighters (fun fact, one of our founding engineers was formerly an actual firefighter)
- Talk to customers daily. Every engineer is in shared Slack channels with users, triaging issues, gathering feedback, and shaping what we build next.
What we look for
- High agency Code is easy to write now. What sets people apart is the ability to figure out what to build, navigate ambiguity, and drive things forward without being told. We want people who see a problem and own it end to end, from understanding the customer's pain to shipping the fix.
- Taste If "taste" were easy to put into words, it would probably be automated by now! We take pride in our craft.
- Not just a code monkey Our engineers stay close to users, not insulated from them.
- Emotionally intelligent You communicate clearly, give and receive feedback well, and make the people around you better.
- Humility Having an ego isn't pleasant for anyone. We mess up all the time and we own up to it!
Nice to haves: mobile dev experience (iOS/Android), strong infra background, cracked with context engineering/VLMs
How we operate
We don't have PMs. Each engineer owns a part of the business. You talk to the customers, prioritize the work, and ship it. You're not waiting for a ticket to show up in your queue. You're figuring out what matters and making it happen.
We're building something hard and moving fast, but we don't glorify burnout. We pay for everyone's Whoop and give a monthly bonus for maintaining healthy sleep and activity levels. There will be late nights and weekend fires, but a sustainable grind is the default.
Benefits
- Competitive comp + equity
- Health, dental, and vision
- Lunch at the office
- Whoop plan + monthly wellness bonus (for high avg sleep + strain scores)
Interview process
- Intro call (30 min)
- Paid work trial (3-5 days). You work on real tickets from our backlog. No leetcode. Travel and lodging fully-covered.
