The Wire Harness Technician will be primarily responsible for assembling harnesses used on the spacecraft, in environmental testing, and for hardware development activities. They will uphold quality standards congruent with space applications. They will interface directly with harness manufacturing and design engineers in design document and work instruction review. They are also responsible for area organization, 5S implementation, maintaining production equipment, and documentation diligence inside of the manufacturing execution system.
Role
- Build harnesses; read and digest the schematic and work instructions then execute cutting stripping, crimping tasks
- Execute connectorizations by way of adding harnesses to existing standalone hardware
- Maintaining detailed documentation by way of marking steps completed, non-conformances discovered, potential assembly improvements
- Execute testing of harnesses (DMM, automated tester)
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to brainstorm and support overall manufacturing improvements
- Uphold Quality standards
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 3+ years of experience working hands-on as a technician in the aerospace, automotive, or similar industries
- Proficiency in wire crimping and harness assembly
- Familiarity with precision tools
- Excellent attention to detail
- Climbing ladders, long durations of standing, grasping, sitting, pulling, and physical bending movements
- Must be able to lift 25lbs, unassisted
- This role requires to work onsite
- US Citizenship or Green Card
Bonus
- Experience reading technical drawings / schematics
- IPC620 working knowledge or certification
- Experience with testers (Cirris, Cable eye)
- Experience in the aerospace industry
- Advanced soldering skills
- Cleanroom experience
