Astranis designs, builds, and operates its satellites out of its 153,000 sq. ft. headquarters in Northern California, USA.
Senior Financial Analyst – Production
As Astranis’s Senior Production Financial Analyst, you will partner directly with our manufacturing and machining teams to ensure financial discipline and clarity as we scale. We are seeking to hire the best—an analysis-driven finance professional who thrives at budgeting, forecasting, and complex modeling, while driving efficiency and accountability across Production departments.
You are an ideal candidate if you have exceptional analytical skills, can manage highly detailed investment models, and are eager to balance an analysis-heavy workload with strategic cross-functional business partnership. You should be motivated by owning budgets, evaluating complex capital tradeoffs, and improving transparency into how Astranis invests in its infrastructure and people.
Role
- Own budgets, financial planning, reporting, and analysis for the Production function, serving as the primary financial partner for our machine shop and manufacturing teams.
- Drive sophisticated CapEx analysis, evaluating long-term equipment investments and modeling complex tradeoffs.
- Balance rigorous, deep-dive financial analysis with effective cross-functional business partnership and communication.
- Partner with department leaders on headcount planning, resource allocation, and spend management.
- Deliver timely variance analysis and actionable insights to drive departmental accountability.
- Build scalable reporting tools and dashboards to provide leadership with clear visibility into production costs.
- Support the monthly and quarterly close process in coordination with Accounting and Finance.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of financial planning & analysis experience.
- Direct experience in Manufacturing or Hardtech environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
- Advanced financial modeling, Excel, and reporting skills, with a proven track record of handling sophisticated investment and CapEx analyses.
- Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to "zoom out" and provide strategic insights to business leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally, bridging the gap between heavy data analysis and operational decision-making.
Bonus
- Startup or high-growth company experience.
- Netsuite or similar ERP system experience.
Base pay is just one component of Astranis’s total rewards package. Your compensation also includes a significant equity package via incentive stock options, high-quality company-subsidized healthcare, disability and life insurance, 401(k) retirement planning, flexible PTO, and free on-site catered meals.
