PCBA SMT Technician
As an SMT Technician at Astranis, you'll be working to program the machines that assemble the printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA) on our satellites and ground support equipment. You'll support the entire SMT process and quickly resolve line-down events to meet development and production need dates.
Role
- Develop reflow profiles that meet peak temperature and time above liquidus (TAL) requirements
- Program a paste printer, pick and place machine and jet printer and verify the programs are defect free
- Create automated optical inspection (AOI) programs
- Develop selective soldering (SLS) profiles and verify the programs with x-ray inspection
- Support wash, depanel and x-ray inspection processes
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 2+ years of experience working hands-on as a technician in the aerospace, automotive, or similar industries
- Can read assembly drawings, work instructions, and travelers
- Work with cross functional engineering team to support new developments
- Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers to develop and document future activities
- Must be onsite 5 days a week
- Excellent attention to detail
Bonus
- A.S. electrical, mechanical, or aerospace engineering technology or equivalent technical programs
- IPC-A-610 certification and experience with Class 3 and J-STD-001 Space Addendum assemblies
- Experience with programming jet printers, pick and place machines, reflow ovens, AOI and selective soldering machines
- Experience with x-ray inspection and wash processes
