About the Role:
- Archer is seeking an experienced, highly organized Sr. Logistics Specialist to lead the execution and continuous improvement of our internal logistics and transportation operations. This role owns higher-complexity, cross-site logistics activity and select strategic projects, ensuring the timely and cost-effective movement of materials, tooling, and finished goods across Archer’s facilities and suppliers as the company scales.
- As a senior member of the Supply Chain Operations team, you will operate with significant autonomy — independently managing complex transportation activity, serving as the primary point of escalation for carrier and shipment issues, leading process-improvement and network projects, and mentoring Logistics Specialists and Coordinators. This position requires strong operational discipline, carrier negotiation skills, and the judgment to balance tactical execution with longer-term process and infrastructure improvement in a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Own end-to-end logistics operations across multiple Archer sites and suppliers, including transportation planning, scheduling, and execution for higher-complexity and time-critical moves
- Lead carrier relationship management and rate/contract negotiations (LTL, FTL, parcel, and specialty transport), driving performance, compliance, and cost efficiency
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex material and tooling movement issues supporting production, test, and R&D operations
- Lead cross-functional logistics projects — new carrier onboarding, route optimization, network redesign, and facility/equipment moves — from scope through implementation
- Own logistics KPI reporting and analytics (OTD, cost per move, service quality), identify trends, and drive corrective action plans
- Mentor and provide day-to-day guidance to Logistics Specialists and Coordinators, reviewing work and building team capability
- Partner with Warehousing, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Finance leadership to align logistics strategy with production and program milestones
- Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and internal safety requirements across all logistics movements, and lead periodic audits of logistics processes
- Own and continuously update Archer’s internal logistics playbook, standard operating procedures, and training materials
- Support cross-functional initiatives to improve visibility, reduce cost, and mitigate transportation risk, and present recommendations to leadership
What You Need:
- 5+ years of experience in transportation management, logistics operations, or supply chain execution, including experience supporting multi-site or higher-complexity logistics
- Proven track record independently managing carrier and third-party logistics (3PL) relationships across multiple transportation modes, including rate and contract negotiation
- Strong knowledge of domestic freight (LTL/FTL, parcel, flatbed, and specialty transport), including regulatory requirements
- Demonstrated experience leading logistics process-improvement or network projects from concept through implementation
- Experience mentoring, training, or informally leading other logistics team members
- Excellent communication, planning, and vendor management skills, with the ability to present findings and recommendations to leadership
- Advanced ability to analyze transportation performance data and drive data-driven process improvements
- Comfortable operating with significant autonomy in a dynamic, fast-growing manufacturing and R&D environment
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience supporting aerospace, automotive, or advanced manufacturing logistics operations
- Familiarity with DOT/PHMSA hazardous materials transport requirements
- Hands-on experience administering ERP or TMS systems for logistics execution and reporting
- End-to-end experience managing project-based logistics (facility moves, equipment relocations, special builds)
- Experience owning or contributing to a logistics budget or cost center
- Passion for Archer’s mission to revolutionize urban air mobility
