About Zipline

Zipline is the world’s largest and most experienced drone delivery service. We are on a mission to serve all humans equally by ensuring access to food, medicine and essential goods anytime, anywhere. We design, build, and operate the world’s largest autonomous logistics system, delivering critical supplies quickly and reliably. Today, Zipline operates on four continents, makes a delivery somewhere in the world every 30 seconds, and has completed millions of deliveries to date, including blood, vaccines, medical supplies, food, and retail products.

Our customers include the world’s largest and most prominent healthcare systems, governments, retailers, restaurants and global businesses who rely on us to save lives, reduce emissions, increase economic opportunity, and provide delivery from point A to point B as fast as possible. The drone is only 15% of what we’ve built to enable seamless, reliable, global operations.

Our system strengthens supply chains, reduces congestion, and gives people time back. With more than 140 million commercial autonomous miles safely flown, Zipline is redefining access to healthcare, consumer products, and food across the globe.

We operate at a global scale and are looking for practical problem solvers who thrive on real-world challenges and rapid growth. Our team is motivated by building systems that have a direct, meaningful impact on people’s lives and by scaling the future of logistics. We are seeking people who sculpt from first principles, enjoy facing adversity, and can do the impossible at record breaking speeds.

About You and The Role

Zipline is looking for a Technical Program Manager, Facilities to deliver the spaces and infrastructure that support our engineering, test, manufacturing, and workplace teams. You will lead facilities projects from initial requirements and feasibility through design, permitting, construction, commissioning, and operational handoff, with accountability for scope, budget, schedule, and readiness for use.

Working closely with Facilities, engineering stakeholders, EHS, IT, and external partners, you will translate evolving business needs into executable project plans. Your work will include new facilities, renovations, equipment installations, utility upgrades, and relocations, coordinating the building systems and operational dependencies required to bring each space into service.

We are looking for someone who combines technical judgment with hands-on program execution. You ask why a requirement exists, challenge assumptions with evidence, and find practical ways to meet competing needs. You can create clarity from incomplete information, hold partners accountable, and deliver projects in active environments where safety and operational continuity matter.

What You'll Do

  •  Lead a portfolio of facilities capital projects, establishing scope, success criteria, budgets, schedules, and accountable owners from project initiation through handoff.
  • Partner with internal teams to define space, equipment, utility, and operational requirements. Separate essential needs from preferences and turn them into clear project scopes.
  • Coordinate architects, engineers, contractors, and specialty vendors through design, permitting, procurement, and construction. Set deliverables and resolve gaps between disciplines and project packages.
  • Use technical judgment to evaluate building-system capacity, equipment requirements, constructability, and maintainability. Challenge unnecessary scope and develop alternatives that improve cost or schedule while meeting safety and performance requirements.
  • Build integrated project schedules that account for permits, long-lead equipment, utility connections, shutdowns, and occupancy requirements. Identify critical dependencies and drive timely decisions.
  • Develop requests for proposals and evaluate bids with Procurement and project partners. Track commitments, forecasts, and change orders, and make clear recommendations on scope and spending decisions.
  • Coordinate site work, equipment installations, relocations, and shutdowns with Facilities, EHS, IT, and operating teams to protect safety and minimize disruption.
  • Maintain clear reporting on milestones, budgets, risks, and decisions. Escalate issues with a recommended path forward and drive recovery plans when delivery is at risk.
  • Lead readiness reviews and coordinate commissioning, inspections, punch-list completion, and handoff. Ensure Facilities and end users receive the documentation, training, and maintenance information needed to operate the space.

What You'll Bring

  •  A track record of managing complex facilities, infrastructure, or construction programs from initial scope through operational handoff, with accountability for budget, schedule, and quality.
  • A technical foundation in mechanical, electrical, structural, architectural, or facilities engineering, construction management, or a related discipline, gained through education or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders, including work in active manufacturing, laboratory, R&D, or other technical environments.
  • The ability to read technical drawings, assess building-system and equipment dependencies, and ask the questions needed to identify design or execution risks. Working knowledge of permitting, construction sequencing, and commissioning.
  • Strong program management skills, including scope development, estimating, scheduling, bid evaluation, change management, and risk resolution across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Clear communication and sound judgment when priorities compete. The ability to explain technical trade-offs, recommend a path forward, and influence teams without direct authority.
  • A hands-on approach to execution, curiosity about how facilities support the business, and ownership of problems through resolution.
