Job Description

About Zipline

Zipline is the world’s largest and most experienced drone delivery service. We are on a mission to serve all humans equally by ensuring access to food, medicine and essential goods anytime, anywhere. We design, build, and operate the world’s largest autonomous logistics system, delivering critical supplies quickly and reliably. Today, Zipline operates on four continents, makes a delivery somewhere in the world every 30 seconds, and has completed millions of deliveries to date, including blood, vaccines, medical supplies, food, and retail products.

Our customers include the world’s largest and most prominent healthcare systems, governments, retailers, restaurants and global businesses who rely on us to save lives, reduce emissions, increase economic opportunity, and provide delivery from point A to point B as fast as possible. The drone is only 15% of what we’ve built to enable seamless, reliable, global operations.

Our system strengthens supply chains, reduces congestion, and gives people time back. With more than 140 million commercial autonomous miles safely flown, Zipline is redefining access to healthcare, consumer products, and food across the globe.

We operate at a global scale and are looking for practical problem solvers who thrive on real-world challenges and rapid growth. Our team is motivated by building systems that have a direct, meaningful impact on people’s lives and by scaling the future of logistics. We are seeking people who sculpt from first principles, enjoy facing adversity, and can do the impossible at record breaking speeds.

About the Australia Team

Zipline is building its presence in Australia, and we are looking for an exceptional student or recent graduate to join the team as a part-time Australia Expansion Fellow.

The Australia team is responsible for developing the partnerships, relationships, and market strategy required to bring Zipline’s autonomous logistics system to communities across the country. This means working at the intersection of healthcare, government, technology, aviation, community engagement, and business development to understand where Zipline can have the greatest impact and what it will take to get there.

The Role

As an Australia Expansion Fellow, you will work directly with Zipline’s Head of Australia on some of the most important questions involved in building Zipline in a new market.

You will conduct stakeholder and market research, help us understand the communities where we may operate, monitor relevant policy and regulatory developments, and support the development of relationships across government, healthcare, industry, and the broader community.

This is not like a traditional fellowship. You will be given real problems to solve and expected to turn ambiguous questions into clear, actionable insights. One week you might be mapping the people and organizations shaping healthcare in New South Wales; the next, researching a community where Zipline could operate or preparing a briefing for an important stakeholder meeting.

The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, highly organized, an excellent communicator, and excited by the opportunity to help build something from the ground up.

What You'll Do

  • Identify and research key stakeholders across federal, state, and local government
  • Map policymakers, elected officials, regulators, healthcare leaders, community organizations, industry partners, and other relevant stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain stakeholder maps, research briefs, and engagement plans
  • Research communities where Zipline may expand operations and identify relevant local leaders, organizations, healthcare providers, and institutions
  • Support the development of thoughtful community and stakeholder engagement strategies
  • Monitor policy, regulatory, healthcare, technology, and industry developments relevant to Zipline’s expansion
  • Analyze the Australian healthcare, logistics, technology, and public sector ecosystems to identify potential opportunities, partners, and risks
  • Synthesize complex research into concise, actionable recommendations for the Australia leadership team
  • Prepare presentations, meeting briefs, background materials, and executive briefings
  • Support high-priority strategic projects related to Zipline’s growth in Australia

What You'll Bring

  • Exceptional research skills and an ability to quickly understand unfamiliar topics
  • Strong written communication skills and an ability to distill complex information into clear, concise insights
  • Intellectual curiosity and a desire to understand how governments, organizations, communities, and decision-makers operate
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
  • Ability to take ownership of ambiguous problems and work independently
  • Sound professional judgment and maturity when working with sensitive information and external stakeholders
  • Ability to adapt in a fluid, high-growth environment and prioritize across multiple projects
  • Collaborative mindset and willingness to do whatever is needed to help the team succeed
  • Genuine interest in Zipline’s mission and in areas such as technology, healthcare, logistics, government, public affairs, community engagement, or market expansion
