Job Description
The Role
Weave is building robots that can work reliably in everyday environments.
As a Robot Operator, you will work directly with our robots and teleoperation systems to collect the data that helps them learn. You’ll guide robots through tasks such as folding laundry, picking up objects, and interacting with their surroundings.
The work is repetitive by design, but it requires judgment. Strong operators are consistent without becoming inattentive. They notice when something changes, recognize when a task is no longer going as expected, and know when to continue, retry, or escalate.
You’ll also work closely with the broader Weave team to improve the way we collect data and operate our systems.
Responsibilities
-
Operate Weave robots using teleoperation equipment.
-
Collect task data accurately and consistently across repeated trials.
-
Monitor robots, equipment, and the surrounding workspace during operation.
-
Identify and report software, hardware, operational, and data-quality issues.
-
Use good judgment when deciding whether to continue, retry, stop, or escalate.
-
Review collected data when needed to maintain quality standards.
-
Follow established procedures while adapting to new tasks, environments, and workflows.
-
Apply feedback from trainers, reviewers, shift leads, and engineers.
-
Help improve data collection workflows, tools, and operator processes.
-
Support robot workflows at deployment sites when needed.
What We Look For
The best Robot Operators combine consistency with awareness.
We look for people who are:
-
Attentive — You notice small changes in robot behavior, task execution, and data quality.
-
Reliable — You show up prepared, communicate clearly, and follow through.
-
Consistent — You can repeat precision-oriented work without letting quality drift.
-
Judicious — You know when something is normal, when something needs attention, and when to escalate.
-
Adaptable — You are comfortable with tasks and workflows changing as our systems improve.
-
Coach-able — You take feedback seriously and apply it quickly.
-
Clear communicators — You can explain what happened in a way that helps others act on it.
Requirements
-
Ability to operate teleoperation equipment for extended periods, with appropriate breaks.
-
Ability to maintain focus during repetitive tasks.
-
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
-
Comfort learning new software, hardware, and internal tools.
-
Ability to work on-site and occasionally support work at deployment sites.
Previous robotics experience is not required.
We care more about judgment, reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to learn.
Experience with robotics, gaming, technical equipment, manufacturing, assembly, laboratory work, quality assurance, or other precision-oriented work may be helpful.
Compensation & Employment
The expected compensation for this role is $25 per hour.
This is a full-time employee position at Weave , with opportunities for increased responsibility and growth based on performance and business needs.
