Assembly Technician

Job Description

At Weave we build practical and delightful robots that benefit as many people as possible. We're already publicly shipping some of the first bimanual robots you can buy, but we'll be defined as a company by how quickly we can build and ship orders of magnitude more. To that end we're now growing our assembly and manufacturing teams.

As an Assembly Technician at Weave, you'll build, inspect, and validate our robots. Working from engineering drawings, work instructions, and build documentation, you'll assemble complex electromechanical systems while maintaining the highest standards of quality and attention to detail. You'll work closely with manufacturing, mechanical, electrical, and robotics engineers to improve assembly processes, identify design issues, and help transition our robots from prototype builds to scalable production. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in building high-quality, first-of-its-kind hardware.

This posting covers two tracks: mechanical assembly and electrical assembly (wire harness fabrication to IPC/WHMA-A-620, continuity and hipot checkout). Tell us which fits you best; strong candidates in either are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Build with precision: Build complex electromechanical assemblies as well as mechanical structures, wiring harnesses, sensors, actuators, and other precision components. Verify assemblies meet mechanical, electrical, and cosmetic quality requirements throughout the build process.

  • Prototype through production: Contribute to prototype, pilot, and production builds while maintaining high quality and efficiency.

  • Support bring-up: Assist with basic power-on, calibration, functional testing, and validation of completed robots.

  • Shape how robots are built: Work closely with engineers to refine assembly methods, validate new designs, and continuously improve the manufacturing process.

  • Fabricate electrical assemblies (electrical track): Build wire harnesses and electrical assemblies to IPC/WHMA-A-620 quality levels: cutting, crimping, routing, terminating, and soldering, with continuity and hipot checkout documented per serial number.

  • Maintain tools and workspaces: Ensure assembly equipment, tools, and workstations remain organized, calibrated, and production-ready.

What you'll bring

  • Assembly experience: 2+ years' experience assembling precision electromechanical products such as robots, consumer electronics, medical devices, vehicles, drones, aerospace systems, or similar hardware.

  • Mechanical rigor: Comfortable working with hand tools, torque drivers, fasteners, adhesives, wiring, and precision mechanical assemblies—all with an attitude of craftsmanship for what you make.

  • Ownership mindset: Experience and aptitude for identifying bottlenecks, reducing defects, and improving manufacturing efficiency.

  • Electrical assembly skill (electrical track): Crimp and termination discipline, IPC-A-620 familiarity (certification welcome, demonstrated workmanship counts just as much), and comfort with multimeters and continuity/hipot testers.

  • Egoless collaboration: Comfort working closely with engineers, technicians, and manufacturing specialists in a fast-paced startup environment.
