Senior Sales Lead (Agricultural Machinery)

Voltrac
Paterna, Spain
Full Time
Compensation
€85,000–€125,000/year

Job Description

Voltrac | Valencia (Paterna), Spain | Field-based, >50% travel across Spain | Full-time

[Base 70–100k EUR + variable 15–25k + meaningful equity]

Voltrac builds autonomous electric tractors for all types of agriculture, from tree crops to open field. Our 3.5-tonne platform is being tested on farms across Spain today, and we are scaling manufacturing to 100 units per year. We are hiring the senior salesperson who will own how Voltrac sells in Spain.

Who we are

Voltrac was founded in 2024 by Francisco Infante Aguirre and Thomas Hubregtsen. Francisco built aircraft at Destinus and Volocopter and comes from a family that builds and sells tractor implements in over 25 countries; Thomas built machine-learning systems at Google X, IBM and BMW, and had his first job on a farm. We are backed with 9M EUR by European VC investors including Extantia, Foodlabs, Antler, Push and Prototype. We are a team of 16 people from 8 nationalities, working from a 1,200 m² facility in Valencia, one of Europe's most liveable cities.

The role

Convert early market interest into paid deployments, and turn what works into a repeatable sales playbook. You are a senior individual contributor: you sell on the ground yourself, with strategic oversight of the whole funnel. You work directly with the founders and alongside our existing sales team, and your playbook becomes the foundation the future team is built on.

What you will do

  • Own the number: pipeline, pre-orders and purchase agreements for the agricultural product in Spain.

  • Sell personally: identify high-value growers, cooperatives and contractors across tree crops and open-field agriculture; run on-farm demos and pilots; structure pre-order contracts, financing and service bundles; close.

  • Set the go-to-market: segment Spanish regions, sharpen buyer personas, prioritize crops and territories, and shape marketing collateral, events and campaigns accordingly.

  • Build the channel: establish local dealer and service-partner agreements so support scales with the fleet.

  • Inform strategy: report market intelligence (competitors, subsidy schemes, financing instruments) directly to the founders and feed field learnings to engineering.

What success looks like

  • First 6 months: territory and crop prioritization set; demo-to-pre-order conversion measurably improving; first purchase agreements closed by you personally.

  • By 12 months: a documented, repeatable sales playbook; a pipeline that supports the 100-units/year manufacturing ramp; the case made (with data) for how the sales team should grow.

Requirements

  • 4+ years selling agricultural machinery, industrial vehicles or advanced ag-tech, with personal closing responsibility on high-ticket, multi-month deals.

  • An existing network in Spanish agriculture: growers, cooperatives, input suppliers or dealers.

  • Evidence of strategic ownership: you have opened a market, territory or segment, not just worked a route.

  • Professional Spanish and English. Applications in English only.

  • Based in or relocating to Valencia; travel >50% across Spain.

Valued

  • Experience with financing-supported equipment sales (leasing, agri credit, subsidies).

  • You have sold innovation into agriculture before: precision ag, GPS guidance, drones, irrigation tech.

  • Technical fluency to explain electrification, autonomy and total cost of ownership in plain farmer terms.

  • Comfort in a startup where not all processes are defined yet.

You probably will not fit if

  • You need structure handed to you; here you build it.

  • Your success came from managing a large team on an established brand rather than selling an unproven product yourself.

  • You want to stay behind a desk.

Compensation and benefits

  • Competitive base + variable tied to deployments

  • Meaningful equity participation

  • Relocation support to Valencia

  • Car and fuel for professional use; phone and laptop; hotels and per diems on the road

Hiring process

  1. Application with a couple of short questions (one answered in English), ~5 minutes

  2. 30-minute video call interview

  3. 60-90 minute case study interview

  4. On-site visit in Valencia to meet the team (travel covered)
