What you need

  • Some programming experience (classes, projects, self-taught)
  • Interest in building robots, hands-on assembly
  • Attention to detail, follow instructions, ask questions
  • Reliability, in-person work in San Francisco
  • No degree required

What you'll do

  • Assemble robots: mechanical parts, wiring, electronics
  • Follow assembly instructions, flag issues
  • Run basic tests and quality checks
  • Keep build notes, improve instructions
  • Write scripts to automate manufacturing and testing

We are Nori Robotics (YC S26) and we build affordable humanoids whose intelligence scales with our fleet. We are hiring two hands-on team members to help build our robots and improve how they’re made.

Scope

You’ll start by assembling robots on our manufacturing line, following build instructions, running basic checks, and learning how the hardware works. As you gain experience, you’ll help develop scripts and automated procedures that make assembly and testing more efficient. You don’t need prior manufacturing or robotics experience—we’re looking for care, curiosity, and a basic programming foundation.

What you'll work on

• Assemble robots, including mechanical parts, wiring, and electronics.

• Follow assembly instructions and flag issues or unclear steps.

• Run basic tests and quality checks with guidance from our engineers.

• Keep build notes and help improve assembly instructions.

• Over time, help write scripts and develop procedures to automate repetitive manufacturing and testing tasks.

Requirements

• Some computer science or programming experience through classes, personal projects, or self-directed learning. No degree required.

• Interest in building robots and willingness to spend most of your time on hands-on assembly early on.

• Attention to detail, willingness to follow instructions, and comfort asking questions.

• Reliability and ability to work in person in San Francisco.

Skills and tools

These are helpful, but not required—we expect you to learn on the job.

• Coding: basic Python or another programming language.

• AI coding tools: Claude Code, Codex, or similar tools.

• Hardware: assembling projects, using hand tools, or working with electronics.

• Robotics: familiarity with LeRobot, ROS 2, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or robotics projects.

• Technical background: coursework in CS, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering.

Nice to have: a project you’ve built or coded, experience following assembly procedures, or an example of a repetitive task you’ve automated.

Pay: $47,840–$58,240 annually at 40 hours per week and 52 paid weeks per year.

Flexible part-time: $23–28 per hour.

This role is in-person out of our San Francisco warehouse in the Bayview/Hunters Point area. Students, recent graduates, and self-taught candidates are welcome to apply. We are also open to part-time arrangements for candidates currently in a degree program.

About Nori

We manufacture Nori: A sub-$2000 bimanual mobile manipulator that can clean rooms, restock shelves, and fold clothes. Nori can handle basic tasks out of the box, and its software lets anyone teach Nori to automate work specific to their home or business. Nori aims to solve the robotics data bottleneck. By deploying affordable robots to customers around the world, we can gather the diverse data required to train the next generation of generalist robotic policies. Every user of Nori makes Nori smarter. Since launching 6 weeks ago we have already deployed our first robot and have over $440k+ in sales. We can bring general-purpose robotics to homes and businesses that could never afford it before. There are 132.7 million households and 8.4 million employer business locations in the U.S. At $1,688 per robot, selling just one Nori to 0.5% of them represents a $1.2B market opportunity in the U.S. alone.
