What you need

  • Strong Python, large-scale media/sensor data pipeline experience
  • Batch/GPU inference, automated QA/QC, dataset versioning, failure recovery
  • Camera calibration, signal processing, FFmpeg/GStreamer a plus
  • New grads ok; PhD not required

What you'll do

  • Build decoding, sync, calibration, normalization, metadata pipelines
  • Implement QA/QC for corrupt files, dropped frames, audio alignment
  • Run models for captioning, tracking, embeddings, quality checks
  • Version datasets with lineage; deliver research-ready exports
  • Improve processing throughput, recovery, cost

Nori Robotics (YC S26) builds affordable humanoid robots. Our work connects some of the world's most novel multimodal, creative, and behavioral datasets to robots and consumer applications used by real customers. We're looking for hungry, talented, curious people to join our team.

Scope: Own the dataset-processing and quality pipeline for synchronized multicamera video, multichannel audio, and sensor recordings. Turn raw sessions into aligned, validated, searchable datasets that researchers can use for model development and evaluation.

What you will work on

• Build decoding, synchronization, calibration, normalization, and metadata pipelines for large video, audio, and sensor datasets.

• Implement QA/QC for corrupt or missing files, dropped frames, audio alignment, synchronization drift, and annotation consistency.

• Run existing models for captioning, tracking, embeddings, and automated quality checks; measure errors and route uncertain outputs for review.

• Version datasets and derived features with source lineage; deliver research-ready exports and improve processing throughput, recovery, and cost.

Requirements

• Strong Python and experience building large-scale media or sensor-data pipelines, including low-level formats, timing, and data integrity.

• Experience with batch or GPU inference, automated QA/QC, dataset versioning, and failure recovery on production datasets. A PhD is not required.

• Nice to have: camera calibration, signal processing, FFmpeg/GStreamer, or large-scale dataset search.

About Nori

We manufacture Nori: A sub-$2000 bimanual mobile manipulator that can clean rooms, restock shelves, and fold clothes. Nori can handle basic tasks out of the box, and its software lets anyone teach Nori to automate work specific to their home or business. Nori aims to solve the robotics data bottleneck. By deploying affordable robots to customers around the world, we can gather the diverse data required to train the next generation of generalist robotic policies. Every user of Nori makes Nori smarter. Since launching 6 weeks ago we have already deployed our first robot and have over $440k+ in sales. We can bring general-purpose robotics to homes and businesses that could never afford it before. There are 132.7 million households and 8.4 million employer business locations in the U.S. At $1,688 per robot, selling just one Nori to 0.5% of them represents a $1.2B market opportunity in the U.S. alone.
