Job Description
We're building foundational models for general purpose manipulation. Our data infrastructure allows us to generate rich, multi-modal human demonstration data at exponential scale.
We are using this data to train general-purpose manipulation models that work reliably across tasks, objects, and robot embodiments. We are live in deployment across multiple verticals.
As a mechanical engineer, you'll own the mechanical design of our custom data collection hardware - first-of-its-kind wearable instruments for collecting the highest quality robotics data.
What you'll do:
- Design and iterate on our wearable data collection hardware, from CAD to 3D-printed parts
- Apply GD&T to make designs manufacturable and repeatable across units
- Maintain and manage the sensor hardware fleet
- Root-cause data quality problems that trace back to hardware
You should have:
- Proficiency in CAD, Onshape specifically - you can design, iterate, and prepare parts for fabrication
- Hands-on experience with 3D printing - printer setup, tolerances, and material selection
- Working knowledge of GD&T
- Strong prototyping instinct - comfortable disassembling, testing, and rebuilding hardware
- Proof of decision-making with incomplete information
Our culture is built on honesty and willingness to fail fast. If you see yourself fitting here, please apply.
