Drive the supply chain behind the world’s most advanced robots.
At Boston Dynamics, we’re redefining what robots can do—and our supply chain is a critical enabler of that innovation. We are seeking a Supply Chain Program Manager to lead and drive end-to-end supply chain execution for new product introductions (NPI) and major program changes across our advanced robotics platforms.
Reporting to the Director, Global Supply Chain, this role serves as the central operational bridge between Engineering, Product Management, Global Supply Managers (GSMs), and suppliers. You will ensure that next-generation hardware platforms are launched on time, within budget, and built for scalable manufacturing.
What You’ll Do
- Program & Sourcing Leadership: Drive end-to-end supply chain readiness and NPI sourcing execution for key robotics programs from early development through production scale.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Engineering, Product Management, Quality, and Operations to align supply chain capabilities with program milestones and product architecture.
- GSM & Supplier Integration: Work alongside Global Supply Managers (GSMs) to coordinate early supplier engagement, component selection, contract execution, and supplier readiness.
- Risk & Schedule Management: Proactively identify, track, and mitigate supply chain risks—including lead time delays, technical readiness, capacity bottlenecks, and geopolitical factors—before they impact program schedules.
- Cost Target Ownership: Partner with GSMs and Product Cost Management (PCM) teams to manage BOM cost targets, review cost estimation models, and track total cost of ownership (TCO) across program lifecycles.
- Design for Supply Chain: Participate in engineering design reviews to provide guidance on supplier capabilities, component availability, manufacturability, and cost constraints.
- Process Excellence: Build, standardize, and refine NPI sourcing playbooks, program tracking templates, and milestone readiness frameworks across the supply chain org.
Why This Role Matters
You will serve as the connective tissue between cutting-edge engineering concepts and physical production execution. By ensuring program readiness for complex robotic systems, your leadership directly enables Boston Dynamics to move revolutionary hardware from R&D into commercial, logistics, and industrial deployment at scale.
What You Bring
- Strong background in supply chain program management, NPI sourcing, or operations program management within hardware development.
- Experience operating in fast-paced environments with high-complexity, low-to-medium volume, or customized electromechanical/robotics platforms.
- Proven capability to lead cross-functional initiatives, manage complex project schedules, and influence stakeholders across technical and business functions.
- Deep familiarity with NPI product development lifecycles, BOM cost tracking, supplier readiness reviews, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities independently.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain program management focused on new product development.
- Demonstrated success in manufacturing, hardware, or complex electromechanical engineering environments.
- Working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or modern project management methodologies preferred.
Location & Operational Requirements
- Onsite Expectation: Ability to work onsite 4 days per week at our Waltham, MA headquarters.
- Travel: Willingness and ability to travel up to 10–15% of the time (domestic and international supplier/partner visits).
- Work Authorization: Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship (visa sponsorship is not available for this role).
This is an opportunity to step into a high-impact, highly visible role where your decisions directly shape the supply chain behind some of the most innovative robotics systems in the world.
