About the Company

Intelline is a venture-backed hardware startup based in Waterloo, ON. We make industrial generators that use 40% less fuel, with virtually any fuel type. Our patented valve-in-piston linear engine technology offers unprecedented variability in combustion control, such that our generators can achieve the highest possible efficiency in real world conditions.

We’re developing an engine architecture for standalone power and hybrid vehicle use in multiple sectors (mining, construction, marine, energy, military, datacenter, and more). Our products will be exposed to a wide range of challenging environments and must produce reliable power for decades, all while minimizing carbon emissions from cradle to grave. It’s complicated, difficult, and important. If this excites you, we’d love to meet you.

Tech Stack

Our Patented valve-in-piston engine architecture enables a 4-stroke engine cycle in an opposed piston layout. Our generator is a free-piston design, and uses our in-house developed hydraulic valve actuators. Altogether, these technologies allow our generator to have variable compression, displacement, and valve lift on-the-fly. This means our generator can match load demands with a nearly flat efficiency curve, and switch between different fuel types while running.
