Tom Sprague

Tom Sprague is a board observer and member of Launchpad Venture Group, a Boston based angel investment organization. Tom has been involved in investing for over 20 years. He was with Fidelity Investments from 1989 to 2005, first as an Equity Analyst following a wide variety of industries ranging from technology to leisure to industrial goods, and then as a Portfolio Manager in Fidelity’s Growth Group of funds. As a Portfolio Manager Tom managed up to $12B in equities in several retail mutual funds and institutional retirement portfolios, emphasizing a growth style of investing. Since leaving Fidelity in 2005 Tom has remained a very active private investor for his own account, and also helps several not for profit organizations with their investment needs. He is on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors (Finance Committee Chair) of Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA. He is on the Board of Directors and Investment Committee for the Covenant Trust Company in Chicago, IL. He is on the Finance Committee and Executive Board of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Chicago, IL. Tom also in an Executive in Residence and frequent guest lecturer at the Johnson School, Cornell University’s Graduate Business School. Prior to joining Fidelity Tom spent 8 years at Eastman Kodak in Rochester, NY as an Industrial Engineer and Industrial Engineering Supervisor. He earned a BS in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering from Cornell University in 1979, and an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School in 1989.
