Sego joined Lux Capital as Chief Financial Officer 2018. She will lead the firm’s finance department, including reporting to limited partners and managing quarterly closes. Sego aims to be a valuable resource for Lux portfolio companies, providing strategic counsel on industry benchmarks and building effective finance teams. Prior to joining Lux, Sego was a controller at Sequoia Capital, where she managed a 20-person team and was responsible for LP reporting, as well as financings, portfolio company valuations and monthly/quarterly closes. Earlier, Sego worked in accounting at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Brussels, Belgium and San Jose, California, focusing on biotech and venture capital. From an early age, Sego had an affinity for math, particularly data and analytics. Born and raised in Namur, a small village on the French-speaking side of Belgium, Sego first came to the US as part of a college exchange program. Sego earned a Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting and economics from the University of Mons Hainaut – Warocqué business school and immigrated to the US in 2005.
