Joseph Kitonga

I immigrated from Kenya to Philadelphia at 13 when my family won the lottery. My father cashed out his pension to buy tickets, and we moved into a small apartment in inner-city Philadelphia.

I eventually dropped out of Penn State with the Thiel Fellowship to start Vitable Health after seeing hourly workers in my parents’ business struggle to afford insurance. At Vitable we give them and the small businesses that employ them access to affordable care through ICHRA and direct primary care.
