Jim Schultz

Jim is the Founder and Chairman of Open Prairie Ventures and the Managing Partner of Open Prairie Ventures I and II. He is directly responsible for the launch and oversight of the two multi-million dollar venture funds and the subsequent investments in agriculture technology, life sciences, information technology and wireless communications. A sixth-generation agriculture entrepreneur, Jim has both a passion and understanding for building companies from the ground up - experiences gained from operating his family’s various international agri-businesses. In the 1980's, he purchased and subsequently managed over 13,000 acres of Midwest farmland. He has carried those Midwest lessons and principles with him throughout his thirty year career as an adviser and investor.
