Jason’s knows that for a deal to be a success you can’t just be commercially orientated, you have to be people orientated: you have to invest in building sustainable businesses that contribute to the society they’re part of. Putting this ethos into practice every day is what Jason says keeps his work fresh and exciting and makes it so rewarding. It’s a set of principles that he shares with everyone at Actis and it was this strong culture and our considerable private equity experience that led Jason to join our Beijing office in 2007. Since then he has played a key role in landmark deals including Actis’s investments in the EIC Group, China’s largest overseas education provider, the 7 Days Inn budget hotel chain and leading fast food business Xiabu Xiabu. Before joining Actis, Jason worked for private equity firm H&Q Asia Pacific and Deloitte Touche Corporate Finance and has extensive experience in both direct investment and financial consulting. Jason holds an MBA from the University of Toronto and a BA in Chemistry from Lanzhou University. He is also a US Certified Public Accountant and a Canadian Certified Management Accountant
