Jan founded Olameter in 1998 to seek out investments in the area of site services, particularly in areas undergoing deregulation. An accomplished business leader, Jan was also the founder of ƒONOROLA Inc, a highly successful long distance telephone company, and the main developer of inter-city fibre-optic-based networks in Canada and the northern United States. The company was sold to Sprint in 1998. Jan is a Governor of McGill University, the Chairman of the Boards of Cogeco Inc. and Cogeco Cable Inc., (a Canadian cable company), a member of the board and Chairman of the Audit Committee of Intersil Corporation (a NASDAQ-100 semiconductor company), and iNOVIA Capital (a university-based venture seed capital company). Jan is a graduate of McGill University with degrees in Engineering and Accounting.
