James Li

James Li is the co-founder and CEO of Encore Alert--a SaaS platform that helps digital marketers identify key social media mentions and trends in real time, alerting them with an actionable recommendation. Encore Alert helps brands scalably identify which people and what topics they should meaningfully engage in, for better results. Encore is venture-backed and was recently named DC’s Hottest Startup by TechCocktail. James was named the 2013 Entrepreneur of the Year at Georgetown University, and his work has been featured in the Washington Post, NPR, TechCocktail, Digiday, and Bloomberg. Previously, James managed the weekly e-newsletter for the Small Business Administration, led fundraising and retention strategy for numerous DC-area nonprofits, and served as a speechwriting intern at the White House for Vice President Joe Biden. James earned his BA in Marketing and Entrepreneurship at Georgetown University, where he won the Dean's Award and the Swift Glass Award for Innovation.
