Jae-hong is an Executive Director and the Head of Private Equity Division who also serves as the lead manager of Synergy Private Equity Fund(KRW 560.5bn). He has 12 years of experience in the private equity markets as well as corporate financing and M&A advisory services. Before joining KIP in 2012, Jae-hong led the Private Equity Team at Mirae Asset Venture Investment and performed private equity deals such as the buyout for A Logen Co.(Logistics, US$ 80mn). Before that, he was a Senior Manager at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, where he performed corporate financing and M&A advisory to companies buying/selling assets. Previously, Jae-hong was an investment banker at Merrill Lynch where he structured and issued equity-linked products such as convertible bonds, exchangeable bonds and bonds with warrants. During his time at Merrill Lynch, he also enganged in M&A transactions and the firm's principal investment activities. Prior to pursuing his investment banking career, Jaehong co-managed several institutional funds at Hansset global Advisors, a subsidiary of State Street global Advisors. Earlier in his alternative investment career, Jae-hong worked at Korea Development Investment, a subsidiary of Korea Development Bank, where he acted as an investment officer of The Korea Venture Fund, a Korean partnership established for venture investments in Korea, which was managed by the consortium of Asian Direct Capital Management, Vertex Management, Yozma Venture Capital and Korea Development Investment. He also managed the Primary Venture CBO Fund and invested in 10 venture enterprises, one of which he exited with a successful IPO in KOSDAQ. Jae-hong received his B.S. in Business Administration from Sogang University and completed the Real Estate Development program at Konkuk University’s Real Estate Research Institute. He is also a Registered Fund Manager.
