Giuseppe Vita

Giuseppe Vita is the Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Axel Springer SE since 2002 and a Member of the Supervisory Board since 2001. From 1961 to 1962 Giuseppe worked as a Radiology Specialist in Rome before he came to Germany in 1962 with a scholarship and an internship at the Institute of Radiology of the Johannes-Gutenberg-University Mainz. In 1964 Giuseppe joined Schering AG in Berlin as a Research Assistant for Contrast Agent Research. As early as 1965 he was appointed Chief Executive Officer at Schering S.p.A. in Milan. In 1987 Giuseppe returned to Berlin and was appointed a Member of the Board of Directors of Schering AG, where he was active from 1989 to 2001 as Chairman of the Board of Directors and from 2001 to 2006 as Chairman of the Supervisory Board. Giuseppe is aslo a Chairman of the Board of Directors at UniCredit S.p.A. Giuseppe earned his M.D. degree in Medicine from La Sapienza University of Rome in 1959.
