Georg Mende

Georg Mende is a Private Equity investor across Growth and Buyout to Special Situations and Distressed/Turnaround opportunities across Developed, Emerging and Frontier Markets. His particular emphasis is on investments involving intensive corporate transformations for systematic active value-creation. Since 2010 he works at Northgate Capital, an Alternative Assets Investment firm managing over $4bn, where he is a principal responsible for investments in Europe and Frontier Markets/ Emerging Africa. Georg started his career working 8 years at McKinsey&Company advising top-level management and principal investors covering Europe, Asia and Africa. During this time he developed a strong functional expertise in corporate finance, business building and growth strategies, as well as operational performance transformation and corporate turnarounds across a broad range of sectors and leading teams of up to 30 people. At the firm Georg was a thought leader on Economic and Financial Sector Development advising several heads of governments on these issues. Independently, he also served as expert adviser to the Office of Tony Blair and the IFC's Asset Management Company.
