Frank Fountain

Mr. W. Frank Fountain serves as a Senior Vice President of Government Affairs at DaimlerChrysler Corporation since November 1998. Mr. Fountain is responsible for maintaining and coordinating to its interface with state and local governments across the country. He directs a staff of government affairs specialists who are responsible for analyzing, developing, and presenting to these units of government on all issues that are important to DaimlerChrysler and the auto industry. He is also responsible for coordinating strategy on issues of interest to other domestic auto industry manufacturers. Mr. Fountain has three additional areas of responsibility of Community Relations, National Education Programs, and the DaimlerChrysler Corporation Fund, for which he serves as the President. Prior to the merger, Mr. Fountain served as a Vice President of Government Affairs at Chrysler Corporation since August 1, 1995. He joined Chrysler Corporation in 1973 as an Investment Analyst and held numerous positions of increasing responsibility at its Corporate Controller's Office, the Treasurer's Office, and Chrysler's Government Affairs office in Washington, D.C. He served as Vice President of Government Affairs at Old Carco LLC. Mr. Fountain is a member of many business and professional organizations. He serves as a Vice Chairman of New Detroit, Inc. and a Director of Invest Detroit. He serves as the Chairman of Board at Africare. Mr. Fountain serves as the Chairman of Detroit Public Schools Board of Education and Hampton University, Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce, and Joint Center for Political & Economic Studies. He serves as a Director of Downtown Detroit Partnership. He serves as a Director of First Step Fund. He serves as an Independent Director of Dte Energy Co. He serves on the Boards of Museum of African American History, Hudson-Webber Foundation, WTVS- Channel 56, Music Hall, The Wharton School Board of Overseers, Metro Detroit Convention & Visitors Bureau, International Visitors Council of Metro Detroit, The Michigan Manufacturers Association, Dennis W. Archer Foundation, Economic Club of Detroit, Corporate Council on Africa, Business Council of Alabama, Detroit Metro Sports Commission, Africare, Focus Hope Advisory Board, and Mackinac Center for Public Policy Advisory Board. He has been an Independent Director at DTE Energy Company since July 02, 2007. He serves as a Member of Advisory Board at Detroit Executive Service Corps. He serves as a Trustee of Hudson-Webber Foundation. He serves as a Trustee of Community Foundation for Southeastern Michigan. He served as the Chairman of Metropolitan Affairs Coalition. He also served as a Peace Corp.'s volunteer in West Bengal, India. He holds an honorary Doctorate of public service degree from Central Michigan University. Mr. Fountain holds an M.B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School and a Bachelor's degree in History and Political Science from Hampton University.
