Mathias Döpfner

Mathias Döpfner is Chairman and CEO of German media group Axel Springer SE in Berlin. Axel Springer is the leading digital publisher in Europe and is active in more than 40 countries. Publishing brands include BILD, DIE WELT and BUSINESS INSIDER (acquired in 2015). Since Döpfner became CEO in 2002, revenues from digital activities increased from 117m euro to 2,0bn euro with EBITDA from digital increasing from -12m to 429m euro. Worldwide digital audience expanded to more than 200 million users. Döpfner is a member of the Board of Directors of Time Warner, Inc., of Warner Music Group and of Vodafone Group.
