Douglas Schouten

Doug is the chief technology officer at Ideon Technologies, which has developed a new way of imaging underground resources and other geological formations using cosmic radiation. Before this venture, he spent a few years as a post-doc in the ATLAS group at TRIUMF, chasing down the Higgs boson with the Large Hadron Collider at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland. Doug's formal education is in subatomic physics, and he has years of experience in physics, geophysics, data and statistical analysis, machine learning, and numerical modelling. He is also Adjunct Professor of Physics at Simon Fraser University.
