Derek Elliott

Derek is a Partner with responsibility for originating and leading investment opportunities with a particular focus on technology. He has been a private equity investor for over 20 years, having previously worked for Permira, before co founding Darwin Private Equity in 2006. He sits on the Board of Times Higher Education. His investment experience covers technology (Attenda, AU-System, Datum Datacentres, Esendex, Euroffice, LIS, Memec), media (All3Media, Silicon.com) and telecommunications (ASK4, Inmarsat, Intelsat), as well as working on the primary buyouts of The Automobile Association and Travelodge. Derek qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen, London and worked in corporate finance and turnaround consulting. He also spent a year on secondment to Accenture’s strategy consulting practice. Derek enjoys spending time with family and friends, travelling, enjoying the music venues and independent cinemas of London, as well as the ups and downs of watching Arsenal. He holds a degree in Economics & Accounting from Bristol University.
