Born in California in 1950, “C.Ray” grew up and attended Cranbrook School in the Midwest, and graduated from Trinity College, in Hartford, CT. with a B/A in Psychology. After a period of some years, he saw the error of his ways, returned to the West Coast in 1979, toiled in the Technology business, starting with Morrow Designs where he was International Sales Mgr selling a range of microcomputers and peripherals. Digital Research, the makers of CP/M and GEM was next, after which he and a partner built an international business selling network test equipment for a period of years. A short stint in an entrepreneurial corner of Pacific Telesis was followed by three more start-ups; Aimtech in multimedia authoring, Kaspia in network monitoring and Websentric in web-based conferencing. A short time before the “Dot-Com” crash, he shifted gears, joined the St. Francis Yacht Club and became a widely-published sailboat racing photographer.
