Brian Raney

Brian Raney, Co-Founder of Awesome Inc and APAX Software brings his experience with several technology-based startup companies to drive the sales, marketing, management, and financial aspects to the Awesome Inc network. After earning a Computer Science degree from the University of Kentucky, Brian completed his Masters Degree in Economics. Brian founded his first software company, Sfenity, before graduating from college. After overseeing its merger with APAX Software, Brian served as the company’s CEO through its transition from a small web design firm to a top resource for web and mobile app development. As APAX Software grew to a sustainable business Brian helped start Awesome Inc in order to grow the entrepreneurial and technology sector in Kentucky. Awesome Inc helps launch companies and teach coding skills to kid and adults. Brian founded Bookexchange.com in 2004, co-founded the Young Entrepreneurs of Lexington organization in 2008, and co-founded BuildingLayer in 2011. He was honored as the Lexington Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2010. He also serves as the Entrepreneur in Residence at the University of Kentucky.
