Alejandro Aboitiz is Vice President Investor Relations and Treasury. In 1999 he was one of the first employees of MercadoLibre.com. During his time in MercadoLibre was Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and responsible for the strategic planning of the company. He previously worked at Citibank, JP Morgan and the Boston Consulting Group. He continued his career in the U.S. where he worked in finance for Amazon.com. For 2008, Aboitiz was engaged to advise and invest in projects with high potential. In 2011 MercadoLibre return to lead the investor relations of the company. Alejandro was received, with honors, from anthropologist at Harvard University in 1994 and an MBA from Stanford University.
