
Program Manager, Mapping Operations
What you need
- B.Tech/B.E. in Civil, Geoinformatics, CS, or related field
- 2+ yrs managing technical data pipelines or operations
- Proven ability to ramp on proprietary tools and diagnose anomalies
- Experience authoring policies and SOPs for large teams
- Coordinate with Software Engineers to unblock operations

You will:
- Develop deep subject matter expertise on the Imagery component of mapping operations, and serve as a go-to point of contact for our vendor teams
- Test and roll out new mapping tools, features, and workflows in coordination with our Engineering partners
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and own those solutions end-to-end
- Create and maintain clear technical documentation
You have:
- B.Tech / B.E. in Civil Engineering, Geoinformatics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- 2+ years managing technical data pipelines or operations, directly responsible for task flow, throughput, and error triage.
- Track record of technical self-sufficiency: Proven experience ramping up on proprietary tools/pipelines and independently diagnosing data anomalies to root causes.
- Policy & SOP authoring: Demonstrated experience translating raw engineering specs into clear, unambiguous operational workflows for large teams.
- Cross-functional bridge: Experience coordinating directly with Software Engineers to resolve blockers while keeping operations unblocked.
We prefer:
- MBA / PGDM with a specialization in Operations, Supply Chain, or Systems.
- Domain exposure: Direct experience with geospatial data, HD maps, GIS, LiDAR/camera sensor data, or AV/robotics pipelines.
- Vendor operations: Experience training, auditing, and enforcing strict quality/SLA metrics (e.g., 98%+ quality bars, Meta-QC) across 20+ member vendor pods.
- Hands-on data querying: Proficiency in SQL or Python for extracting pipeline logs, auditing defect rates, and building operational dashboards.
Travel requirements:
- Ability to travel to the US as needed (at least once every 2 years)
The expected base salary range for this full-time position is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Waymo employees are also eligible to participate in Waymo’s discretionary annual bonus program, equity incentive plan, and generous Company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements.
