This position requires an active U.S. Government Security Clearance at the CBP Suitability level.

Vantor is currently seeking a CBP Multi-Domain Awareness SME to provide operational expertise to support the development of statistical and machine learning models to support our FALCON effort. The ideal candidate will work on-site with AMOC DEOs to translate operational needs into technical requirements. 

As a Vantor team member, you will have the opportunity to closely support our mission partners, and your work will have a direct impact on building mission-focused software capabilities that support operational awareness, data-driven analysis, and timely decision-making. In this role, you will work closely with software engineers, data scientists, analysts, and customer stakeholders to build, enhance, and sustain applications and data pipelines that help transform complex data into actionable insight.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Contributing to the continued research, development, and sustainment of mission-focused data processing workflows and analytical capabilities. You will support engineers, data scientists, and mission partners by providing feedback, assisting in design, and/or maintaining and enhancing communication and feedback cycles, technical documentation, and helping deliver reliable capabilities in an agile, remote-first environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Define technical requirements to align with operational needs for models and AI solutions
  • Test, validate, and provide feedback for analytic models in development, test, and production environments
  • Defines threshold for model performance, based on operational need and experience
  • Conducts data analysis to extract valuable insights from operational, spatiotemporal data sets
  • Assists in the creation of a validation and testing platform to elicit feedback from end-users and stakeholders
  • Schedules and leads stakeholder and end-user meetings to enable efficient feedback cycles and requirements gathering
  • Draft technical documents for internal and external teams

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Active CBP suitability
  • Ability to work onsite at the CBP Air and Marine Operations Center three days a week
  • Professional experience in CBP AMO with expertise in validating novel analytics and missions for complex problems
  • Professional experience in translating user requirements for technical development teams
  • Ability to guides strategic AI implementation and represents capabilities to stakeholders
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Experience with CBP AMOC floor and intelligence operations

Pay Transparency: In support of pay transparency at Vantor, we disclose salary ranges on all U.S. job postings.  The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.


The base pay for this position within California, Colorado, Hawaii, New Jersey, the Washington, DC metropolitan area, and for all other states is:


$140,000.00 - $170,000.00
