Job Description

About TrueClaim

TrueClaim is rebuilding health plan administration software from the ground-up, with modern technology and AI. Most health plans and third-party administrators (TPAs) still operate on outdated legacy technology that’s slow, error-prone and costly. We’re the modern alternative: AI-powered claims review, API-first architecture, and a platform that makes operating great health plans radically simpler. Think Shopify, but for health plans.

We're a YC-backed team of industry veterans (Hinge Health, Pine Park Health, pMD) who've built and scaled healthcare companies before. We're live and revenue-generating with customers, growing quickly, and on a mission to modernize how health plans operate to make the healthcare system more transparent, efficient and affordable for everyone.

About the Role

We're looking for a Solutions Engineer who can sit at the intersection of product, engineering and customer success - translating customer needs into technical solutions that drive direct user impact. You’ll be the technical and implementation expert for our customers - helping to debug their product / engineering issues, manage technical requests, configure our platform for specific use cases, and occasionally build lightweight features or integrations to unblock customers.

This is a customer-visible role: you'll be on customer calls and external Slack/email channels, representing TrueClaim's technical capabilities and making sure customers can leverage our platform fully. You’ll need coding experience (both frontend and backend), but you don't need to be an architect building new systems from scratch. This is an in-person role in our San Francisco office (4 days per week).

What You'll Do

  • Customer-facing technical work
    • Join customer calls to troubleshoot technical issues and answer questions
    • Debug and resolve customer-reported bugs across our stack
    • Configure TrueClaim's platform to meet specific customer requirements
  • Product & engineering collaboration
    • Translate customer feedback into actionable technical/product changes
    • Work with the engineering team to prioritize bug fixes and feature requests
    • Build lightweight tools, scripts, or integrations to solve customer problems
  • Implementation & integration support
    • Support data migration and system integration projects
    • Troubleshoot API integrations and data exchange issues

Qualifications

  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in a technical, customer-facing role (e.g., Solutions Engineer, QA Engineer, Sales Engineer)
  • Technical skills: Hands-on coding experience with both frontend and backend technologies (including Python and front-end Next.js typescript code). Proven ability to debug technical issues across a full-stack application.
  • Other skills: Customer-first mindset with strong problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills (you can explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences).
  • Bonus points for: healthtech or fintech/payments experience, and early-stage startup experience

Logistics

  • Location: 4 days per week in-office in San Francisco
  • Benefits: Competitive medical, vision, dental coverage and unlimited PTO
  • Culture: Fast-paced but sustainable. We move quickly, care deeply about our customers and operate with a high standard of excellence, but also believe in pacing ourselves so that we can make this our - and your - life’s work.
